At 10 a.m. in the Tokyo foreign exchange market, the USD/JPY showed signs of faltering.

As of the 10 o'clock mark, it registered at 141.95 yen, slightly weaker by about 4 pips compared to the New York market's closing value of 141.99 yen.

The pair had seen some buying activity pushing it up to 142.18 yen before 8 a.m. However, it failed to breach the previous day's high of 142.21 yen and was subsequently pushed down by selling pressure, retreating to 141.86 yen.

The EUR/JPY also struggled to extend gains.

By 10 a.m., the pair stood at 155.43 yen, marginally stronger by around 6 pips against the New York closing value of 155.37 yen.

There was a spike to 155.57 yen before 9 a.m., but like the USD/JPY, it soon ran out of steam.

The EUR/USD was slightly higher.

At the 10 a.m. check-in, it was at 1.0949 dollars, up by a modest 0.0007 dollars from the New York market's closing of 1.0942 dollars.

The pair managed a slight climb to 1.0951 dollars but continued to move within a tight range as it had been recently.
